The HYMS Learning Enhancement & Support Team would like to wish everyone at HYMS a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Once again it’s been a busy year for the team and the observant amongst you will have noticed that over the course of the year we’ve changed our name from the HYMS eLearning Team, to the HYMS Learning Enhancement & Support Team. This change of name (and focus) reflects our broader vision for the increased use of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) within HYMS and our stated ambition to actively support all forms of teaching (whether that’s a traditional lecture, small group teaching delivered using video conferencing, or a collaborative group project using an online wiki).
As we’re now well into the second academic year of our Changing the Learning Landscape (CLL) project, we think it’s time evaluate the impact that this initiative has had on both the quality and quantity of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) within HYMS. We’re now starting to collate this information and will be reporting back with our findings early in 2016.
In terms of recent developments we’ve been putting the finishing touches to a new online version of our “Introduction to Blackboard and Technology Enhanced Learning at HYMS” course. This self-paced course will be available early in 2016 and will provide much needed access to training for those members of staff who struggle to attend face-to-face sessions, or as a refresher for those may not have regular need to use Blackboard.
As always if any of you have TEL related queries don’t hesitate to contact us on the email below (we’ve kept the firstname.lastname@example.org email address), we’re always happy to help.
